Hello,
I have a problem that other users have already described here (and been able to remedy with assistance): the Windows Firewall on my laptop does not work any more -- I cannot configure it through the control panel, and when I try to open it, it shows the message:
Error Code 0x6d9 usually occurs when the Windows firewall Advanced Security snap-in fails. Find out other causes and how to effortlessly fix this error code. 3 Reset Windows Firewall Resetting the Windows Firewall to default might help resolve the issue. You can do it via the Control Panel, by using the built-in netsh utility or using our freeware FixWin. Step 1: Repair Registry Entries Associated with Error 0x6D9. Step 2: Conduct a Full Malware Scan of Your PC. Step 3: Clean Out Your System Junk (Temporary Files and Folders) With Disk Cleanup (cleanmgr). Step 4: Update Your PC Device Drivers. Step 5: Utilize Windows System Restore to 'Undo'. Solution 3: Reset Windows Firewall. If the issue still exists, the Windows Firewall configuration is causing the problem. Then you need to reset Windows Firewall. Here are the steps: Step 1: Open the Start Menu, type cmd and search for it. Then select Run as an Administrator. Step 2: Then, you need to type the following commands one by one.
'The Windows Firewall with Advanced Security snap-in failed to load. Restart the Windows Firewall service on the computer that you are managing [obviously, that is not possible]. Error code: 0x6D9.'
My operating system is Windows 7, 64bit version. All recent Windows updates are installed. My attorney software download. I have Malwarebytes installed and ran a scan recently, with no results except for one tracking cookie. I also have Sophos Antivirus installed, which also did not find anything when I ran a scan.
Perhaps somebody could be so generous and tell me what I could do about this?
Cheers,
Daniel
